About

Hi, I’m Med, the person behind PsychCuts.

I started PsychCuts because I’ve always been obsessed with one question: why do people do what they do? Not the surface-level answer, but the actual mechanics — what’s happening in the brain when someone obeys an order they know is wrong, why a sugar pill can heal a real symptom, or what the mind experiences in its final moments. That obsession turned into a YouTube channel breaking down psychology and neuroscience research in short, digestible videos, and PsychCuts.com is where I go deeper — the full stories, the studies, and the context that doesn’t fit into 60 seconds.

I’m not a licensed psychologist or a clinician, and I want to be upfront about that. I’m an independent researcher and science communicator — my background is in analyzing research, breaking down complex studies, and explaining them clearly, not in providing therapy or clinical advice. Everything I publish here is built from peer-reviewed studies, documented case histories, and credible secondary sources, always cited so you can go verify it yourself. Where a topic calls for real clinical expertise, I say so directly, and I link out to those who have it.

PsychCuts exists for people who are curious the way I am — who want to understand the psychology behind the news, the workplace, relationships, and their own minds, without wading through jargon or oversimplified TikTok summaries. Some of what I cover is unsettling by nature (obedience experiments, the psychology of manipulation, what dying looks like to the brain) — I write about it because understanding these things protects you, not because I think it’s entertainment.

If you want the sourced, expanded version of what I cover on YouTube, or you’re just here because a headline pulled you in — welcome. Stick around.
